PES President Poul Nyrup Rasmussen today paid tribute to Portuguese MEP Fausto Correia who died suddenly at the age of 55.Poul Nyrup Rasmussen said “It is hard to accept that Fausto, who was so lively and so engaged, has passed away when he still had so much to give. He has left his life but not our minds, not our memories. It was only recently I was speaking to him and the whole Portuguese delegation about the challenges ahead. I always believe that if you don’t fight, you don’t count – and Fausto was someone who did stand up for his ideas, for our common ideas. I deeply regret that we have lost Fausto Correia.”
